Ketogenic diet recipe and info. for dogs from Answers and Darwin's

Well, my dog and I have been close to this for years:) It's wonderful that they are getting the word and the support out. It's no surprise that a well-proportioned raw diet is so close to a "curative" diet. There's nothing like eating well in the first place, for both species - you don't have to...

BPC-157 (body protective compound-157) Peptides Capsules

Yowza! Great post, Dr. H.! This is one of the most common areas of misunderstanding in homeopathy, and the place where many poorly prescribed cases get "stuck". Often remedies will be given on a "this for that" basis, and then the case gets muddied and confused, with any chance for progress stymied.

Requesting guidance to ensure balanced diet and regularity with appropriate supplementation

Not likely, IMO. I think I would not use slippery elm or other clearly adjunctive items, but just provide FOOD. You can leave out bone, for the time being, without worrying about balance. The kefir would be a nice addition, and should help provide moisture as well as nutritional value. "Wet"...

Cruciate ligament tear after 3 months

She will be much happier and more sure of herself when she is fully functional. This will give you both a chance for better behavior, as she will have less fear and vulnerability. Good for you, to recognize this!

Digestive enzyme not for any particular condition

And we use Step Above collagen, in a huge and economical jar. I haven't found another pet product which is so cost-effective and easy. He gets a big scoop every day.

    Spaying 13 weeks kitten

Do folks really do OSS's on cats? Of course, I can see the health perspective, but are not the common problems that an OSS does not change, with yowling, carrying on, etc. and the other hormonal symptoms that are so hard with which to live, an obstacle for most folks? I agree, of course, that...

Digestive enzyme not for any particular condition

Well, Adored Beast has a nice one: "Healthy Gut". Curious as to why you think she would benefit from an enzyme product, rather than a probiotic blend, of which there are quite a few, or one that contains both aspects. Raw food contains its own enzymes, too, and I am a minimalist as regards the...

    Something to give for hairballs?

Nice article, Dr. Jean:) Our family cats, when I was a kid, were fuzzy guys, and got ever so many doses of Petrolatum, or Petromalt, which of course worked a treat. I got really good at jamming it down them:) Never knew anyone to actually LIKE it.

9 Year old Lab Mix experiencing reduced mobility, low energy and weight/muscle mass loss

Yes, on the allergic possibility for any cooked chicken product. Anything that denatures a protein can cause a reaction in a "delicate" animal. Perhaps raw chicken won't be the ultimate solution, but worth a try. Turkey seems less prone to causing reactions... Poop is so variable that it isn't...

    Something to give for hairballs?

I'd give it every day, over their food. Or out of a little dish if they'll eat it. It tastes great, to cats, and there are heaps of benefits to all the body's tissues. Just a bit, 1/2 teaspoonful or so, would be sufficient. Too much might loosen stools, but will not be harmful.

9 Year old Lab Mix experiencing reduced mobility, low energy and weight/muscle mass loss

No, try the chicken raw. Cheap and filling:) Not the best food, but way better than canned or preserved. Canned sardines are fine. Turkey is great; see if you can find turkey necks, backs, and other non-weight bearing parts. Look for lamb or pork neckbones. Try to find a pet store or other raw...

19 year old cat has bleeding gums

Hamilton's book has an extensive chapter on mouth, gums, and teeth, from which I will not attempt to quote. It would be helpful for you to know more specifically whence the blood comes, under what conditions, what else could possibly be occurring, what has changed with her, etc. I would look at...

Tumor on right paw near pad not sure if cancer

I'd like to see him eating some "red meat" organs: liver, heart, tripe, kidneys from larger animals. Kibble and canned are pretty much dead and potentially toxic, nutritionally. Does he have symptoms that pumpkin manages? I'd suspect that the growth is his body's attempt to push out SOMEthing...

    TEEF for Teeth

I'd still be inclined to think that there is more sodium bicarb in the residue from your tooth powder than in any use of Teef!. And I don't share your concern about its effects in alkalization of the digestive tract in these amounts. Raw food, after all, provokes secretion of stomach acids...

    TEEF for Teeth

Very helpful podcast! I had been inclined to say that the tiny amount of sodium bicarbonate will be inconsequential, and now I believe that even more strongly. Teef! is a remarkable breakthrough, and I look forward to more developing uses. If whatever you are using is sufficient - well, it is...

    Nausea / Digestion

Sounds lovely:) And, yes, her needs, desires and abilities, both to consume and to digest various stuff, will keep changing. Your job is to provide and watch. I have known dogs who thrive on a steady diet of only chicken backs, but I would much rather give all sorts of opportunities, foodwise...

    Sneezing turned snort sneeze

Just want to say that the above is a terrific answer! This is a "textbook" case for a disturbed vital force, and should be, can I say, fun - for the homeopath and us - to watch unravel. IMO there's nothing immediately life-threatening about any of these symptoms. Please do follow up, and let us...

    Holistic Vet Experience

I would be inclined to take all this with a grain of salt - or not:) You'e obviously doing a bunch of the right stuff - and no supplemental construct will ever come close to the balance of this great raw diet. I think you're right - it's not broken, not either of them. My biggest concern would...
