They saw cocci in the urine, so that would lean me a little more toward antibiotics, but it may be manageable without them, as long as the dog isn't uncomfortable. Then I tend to get more aggressive and "multimodal."
Hi Alessia!
Yes antibiotics will disrupt the microbiome, but that can be compensated for with probiotics during and after treatment (space at least 2 hours apart from drug). It will right itself over time.
In an older dog I agree with your concern about the UTI getting worse. Antibiotics have...
It's up to you, but if you have a good home for her, that may be the best in terms of keeping the peace.
BUT remember it can take a long time, many weeks, to do a full introduction/integration. Cats ultimately take about 6 months to fully adjust to new situations.

Yay, well done Punkin!!
The lymphoma may be thickening his intestines, making it hard for the small muscles that produce peristalsis to get it to move. And what doesn't go down, may come back up. Nothing odd about any of it, given his condition. Just keep loving on him!! Good job!

Changing Times is a good remedy for accepting change, but Safe Space is another one to consider. Look at those and Scaredy Cat and see which fits best. You can give them a call and they will help guide you.
CBD will not help with inflammation, that is not the system it works on.
The stomach lining heals very fast, a couple of days.
A few meals, even days, without supplements, i.e., baby food, is not a concern.
A sluggish appetite for half a day, or even a day, is not a concern, either.
I only...
Oh bless you sweet Joanne, you're doing a wonderful job with her and wow is she a TEACHER right down to her little toe beans! And it's so true that to help her get balanced, you also need to be balanced. I know, easier said than done! Keep going, it will be fine!
