Live on a Medical Medium lifestyle and want to follow his advice for my cats too

I do not know what a "reputable source for chicken" could possibly be at this point. Major growers are being exposed as irresponsible about biosecurity. Outdoor "pasture" or regenerative grazing flocks are at high risk because of their exposure to wild birds. Backyard flocks are at extremely...

Behavior issues around meal times with kitties Bella and Maya

My adivice: don't treat a problem that doesn't exist.

She should have been, or now should be, on probiotics every day for several weeks to compensate for the antibiotics. The Solid Gold product is a probiotic but not a great one. It doesn't contain a good prebiotic to feed the bacteria. I don't recommend seaweed products for cats due to the high...

Premix for raw food for cats

Alnutrin's complete supplement is comparable to the others. Any of them would work.

Feeding rabbit to a kitten - Taurine - how much to give?

Oh, that's a math question and I don't do math, lol! She needs 80-100 mg of taurine amongst all the food she eats in a day. If she eats 3 ounces (85 gm) of food, then she needs 100 mg (0.1 gm) of taurine. If she eats 6 oz (170 gm) of food, she still needs 100 mg of taurine. It's per cat, not...

How to support kitten after spaying surgery

Spaying does change hormones and most significantly reduces their basal metabolic rate. Keep her active by playing, and reduce her food intake by about 25% to prevent weight gain. As far as supplements, you could try Standard Process Cataplex F, which contains ovarian cytosol extract. Find out...

Food dish for cats - is there a preference?

My best thrift store find was a set of shallow, wide-rimmed ceramic soup bowls that kept crumbs in, were heavy enough to not slide, and allowed great food access.

    Bird flu?

Pyrex makes glass containers in various sizes that work very well.

Looking better! It's still raw enough for her to re-open by licking though, so be cautious.

    Bird flu?

No, squash has no benefit for cats other than a tiny bit of fiber.

I wouldn't. Are you still warm compressing? It looks swollen but hard to tell from the pictures.

    Hard stools

No don't let her lick it, she will just irritate it. You want to control "access" and only have the warm clean wet washcloth in the area. Do that 3-4 times a day if you can.

    Bird flu?

Yes, with any poultry there is a risk. Call your supplier and ask them what testing they are doing. Here is a summary of my current recommendations: · Keep cats indoors, walked on a harness or leash so you can control what they sniff or eat, or in a secure outdoor enclosure with mesh small...

    Hard stools

If it's open and draining to the outside, so let it do that. Keep up with the warm compresses. It has to heal from the inside out which takes time. As long as she's eating and acting normal otherwise it will heal just fine!
