When would one choose to use homeopathy vs. using herbs?

When using herbs to treat two different conditions, e.g. IBD and kidney disease, do the herbs cancel each other out/dilute the synergistic effect? (I am using Nutrigest and Rehmannia Eight both with different blends of herbs)
