This boy is emaciated so giving small meals including ground Turkey and pumpkin or squash and Answers goats milk. He is acting fine considering his health but has such mushy poop. He is going in for bloodwork on Monday and I’ll take a stool sample. Any ideas what bloodwork to do besides regular cbc for digestive issues?

Henry's one lucky boy! Do you know about how old he is or anything about his "backstory"?

A baseline CBC, superchem, fecal, and urinalysis would be great to start.

Since his BEAM is fine, just keep feeding smaller frequent fresh/raw food meals.

Maybe also add some Rx Vitamins Nutritional Support, whatever probiotic you have on hand and promote as much sniffing around in the dirt as possible.

His bloodwork all came back normal so tomorrow he is going back in for fasting bloodwork for malabsorption

I wonder about what the indication is (or need for) the blood tests? Has he had a recent fecal check and Panacur treatment? Is his BEAM off in any way? Does he have diarrhea, vomiting, etc?

Testing for EPI. His stool sample was negative but still has mushy poop and barely putting on any weight

Tested negative for EPI so now for addisons and then realize it’s probably just lack of food but wanted to make sure. Slippery elm has helped a lot.

So Henry was well enough but overly amorous to any other dog so yesterday he was neutered and had gastropexy done at Tufts and they sent him home with the dreaded Rimadyl. Should his new family give Arnica or??

I'm glad he found a home Judy!

Regarding Arnica and/or Rimadyl for pain relief perhaps they can use Arnica as often as needed (shaken/succussed) then Rimadyl if needed:
