Cystine bladder stones formation

My sisters dog had to have surgery to remove  cystine bladder stones. Her vet wants to put Willy, a male dog on a low protein diet.

can you suggest a good diet plan for him? He almost died 2 weeks ago because the blockage was so bad, they went in twice to remove the stone.

would Reishi powder be good for him too?

Did he have any prior urinary (or other) symptoms?
