Hello forum!

Our family's 2 y/o M poodle, Beanie, was recently diagnosed with Addison's disease after a bout of lethargy, poor feeding, etc. He will be started on some hormonal medications, and I plan to help shift his diet to a more whole foods based one. I was wondering if the forum had any ideas or suggestions regarding supplements (including good suppliers/brands - we live in Canada) and other strategies/modalities to help Beanie heal and live a healthy life?

Thank you in advance
- Jun

help Beanie heal and live a healthy life?
Thanks for making your first post Jun.

Fantastic that your plan already is to shift his diet!

Part of why a fresh food (and especially raw meat) diet can help is because it raises his cellular energy and ability to heal.

There are lots of actions that can also do that. They all improve healing and can help his cellular joy, coherence and ability to be the best Beanie that he can be.

All of these actions are based on the Practical Positive Veterinary Spirituality that we teach. The more he and you can connect with happiness, love and joy, the better he will be.

Actions like the Happiness Protocol, Love Therapy, Therapeutic Sniff walks, etc. are key.

Supplements work on the physical body, not at the energetic level. So they are actually secondary to everything else you can do (for free!).

One thing to start tho, is adrenal support via glandular and other supplements such as from Standard Process. @Dr. Sue is a SP expert and may have some suggestions.

You can also consult with her directly (virtually) at:

So glad you are here at Holistic Actions.
Be sure to take the Pet health 101 class.

With an illness like this in a young dog, it is very important to begin, in addition to all the great suggestions made by Dr. Jeff, to become a client of a veterinary homeopath (many consult by phone), or excellent vets doing Chinese medicine (acupuncture, chinese herbs and more) or western herbs. Read the "select" article on the HA site.
